. We’d like to welcome Myrinda McCarron, the newest aquarist on the Estuarium staff. McCarron graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in marketing, but always maintained her interest in marine biology by volunteering at the Estuarium. As an aquarist at the Estuarium, McCarron duties include checking water quality, monitoring medications and feeding, and maintaining healthy living environments. She is looking forward to the day that she is permitted to clean the large tank. Sounds odd? To do this, McCarron gets to strap on her SCUBA gear, dive into 16,000 gallons of water, and swim among 20-pound fish. McCarron said working at the Estuarium is stimulating and advises, “Always do what you love, and never get discouraged.” -- Courtney Pike |
