This summer, teacher workshops have filled rapidly at the Sea Lab. Offered by the Discovery Hall Programs, World of Water (a Title II program) was filled immediately, and the spaces for Coastal Connections were completely purchased by Madison City Schools! However, there are a few slots available in some of our July teacher programs:

Beaches, Birds and Barrier Islands (July 8-11) will feature a thorough tour of birding and beachcombing sites on Dauphin, Petit Bois and Sand Islands.

Grasses, Groupers and Gastropods (July 22-26) compares the diverse habitats from Dauphin Island to the submerged grassbeds of St. Joe Bay in Florida.

Spaces for these workshops are limited so call Denise Keaton at 334/861-7515 or e-mail her at dkeaton@disl.org today!

For your 5-8 year-olds, why not turn a day at the beach into an educational experience they’ll never forget? In our Oceans Alive Beach Camp, kids will have a chance to try sand-casting, collecting specimens, tour the Estuarium -- they’ll have so much fun, they’ll never think they’re learning!

Only July 6 and 11 are available for this half-day camp (parent/guardian required for attendance), so contact Denise Keaton at the above numbers as soon as you can!
