DISL Graduate students Carly Steeves, Nate Geraldi, Brad Furman, Dale Booth and Allison Rellinger visted Hüso Biological Station along the Baltic Sea this fall for two weeks of field studies.  The Baltic coastal ecosystem is dominated by rocky intertidal, marsh and submerged aquatic vegetation.  “This field course is an excellent opportunity to compare our own ecosystem in Mobile Bay to the habitats of the Baltic Sea,” says Dr. Ken Heck, who led the course.  Last year the DISL hosted students from Finland to Dauphin Island.
