Visiting Investigators

Dr. Kyeong Park has had a full laboratory as he welcomed three visiting investigators from overseas. Dr. Sung-Jae Kim, professor at the Department of Marine Environmental Engineering, Gyeongsang University in Korea; Dr. Kuk-Jin Kim, professor at the Research Center for Coastal Environments of Yellow Sea at Inha University in Korea; and Mr. Sang-Kwon Hyun, Deputy General Manager of R&D Institute run by KOSEC, a private maritime consulting company in Korea, all came to work with DISL’s Dr.Kyeong Park.

“They are here to learn how to use one of my water quality models, HEM-3D (Three-dimensional Hydrodynamic-Eutrophication Model), for Korean coastal systems. The HEM-3D is listed by the US EPA as one of several models that can be used for the development of the court-mandated TMDL (total maximum daily load),” said Dr. Park.
