DISL 2006 Summer Programs

Once again, it’s a full load of summer programs that the DISL is offering to everyone from five-year olds to graduate students. Programs are filling quickly, so please visit www.disl.org for more information on programs and enrollment.

  • Oceans Alive! – For children ages 5-8. Half-day camp. June 9 and June 23.
  • Treasure Island – For children ages 9-11. Half-day camp. June 16 and June 30.
  • Gulf Island Journey – For middle schools students. Week-long residential program. May 28-June 2; July 9-14; July 16-21; and July 23-38.
  • Discovery Hall Program High School Program – For students in grades 9-11. Four-week long residential program June 4-30.
  • Teacher-training workshopsTeacher-training workshops:
 
  • Exploring the Florida Keys (Swimming is a requirement) - May 28 - June 2.
 
  • Marine Applications of Science and Technology – June 4-8 and June 18-22. Teachers will receive a GPS unit for classroom use.
 
  • Beaches, Birds and Barrier Islands – June 25-29 and July 9-13.
 
  • Coastal Connections – July 16-20.
 
  • Submerged Grassbeds of the Northern Gulf of Mexico – June 11-15 and July 23-27.
  Most teacher-training courses require overnight stays. Credit hours are available for most courses.
 
  • University Programs Summer School – For college and graduate students. Sessions will run May 15-26; May 29-June 30; and July 3-August 4.
