Thank you to Alabama Power Foundation for its $100,000 contribution to the research facilities at the DISL. The DISL was the largest grant recipient in the state for Alabama Power Foundation…Thank you to ExxonMobil for its $29,000 award to support the DISL’s educational programs, including our traveling marine science classroom, BayMobile…Thanks to Shell Oil Foundation for their continued support of the Minority Teaching Fellowship – this will be our third year of seeking to increase minority participation in marine science education…Congratulations to Dr. Will Schroeder his recent recognition at the 63rd Department of the Interior Honor Awards Convocation. Dr. Schroeder and the Deep Wrecks Team convened to conduct an investigation of six ships that were sunk by German U-boat activities during World War II in the Gulf of Mexico and provide historical, archaeological and biological research.…Four of the DISL’s graduate students participated in the 10K Azalea Trail Run – and finished! Congratulations to Kevan Gregalis, Andrea Anton, Claire Pabody and Choong-Ki Kim (pictured below, left to right).
