Opening Soon: Estuarium Exhibit on
Underwater Exploration.

For as long as humans have been fascinated with the ocean, they have devised ways to study its currents, tides, depths, and inhabitants. From early free-diving to the use of the submerged diving bell, underwater enthusiasts were quite the risk-takers in pursuit of underwater research. Today, improvements in submarine technology, such as remote operated vehicles (ROV), have become so advanced that researchers do not even have to go in the water to explore the depths of the ocean floor. The advances in diver technology have become as far-reaching and vast as the ocean itself.
