DISL Graduate Students Win Big at Graduate Student Symposium |

For the fourth year in a row, DISL graduate students took the lead at the Ninth Annual Graduate Student Symposium, held this year at LUMCON. Eight universities were represented with 54 oral presentations. Masters student Alison Rellinger won first place, as well as People's Choice, for her presentation "Occurrence and turnover of DMSP and DMS in the deep waters of the Ross Sea, Antarctica." Mairi Miller, also a Masters student, was awarded second place for "The influence of ecological and physical factors on the settlement and survival of the moon jelly (Aurelia sp.) in the Northern Gulf of Mexico." |
