Dr. Ken Heck was named Adjunct Professor in the School of Plant
Biology at the University of Western Australia in Perth. Dr. Heck has also been invited to present the plenary address at the Australian Marine Science Association's annual meeting next year in Adelaide, AU.

This September Dr. Heck will host Dr. Patricia Prado Villegas of the Center for Advanced Studies in Blanes (CEAB) Spain. She has received support from the Spanish Fulbright Program to carry out post-doctoral work for a year at DISL.

Dr. Rich Aronson will be a featured speaker at the 11th International Coral Reef Symposium in Fort Lauderdale in July. Aronson is President of the International Society for Reef Studies, which co-sponsors the Coral Reef Symposium.
